Exercise Protects Vital Memory and Learning Functions

When you are stressed the best thing that you can do is exercise.
Our bodies have a stress response mechanism called "Fight or Flight."
What this means is that historically when someone got stressed out they would either fight the other person or animal or run away. In our world that seems silly, but every animal has this mechanism. If those stress hormones aren't dealt with by a massive use of energy, they build up and cause damage.
When you are stressed out a much better idea than fighting someone would be to simply exercise! Not only for your cardiovascular health but for your brain health as well!

Move More to Live Longer

The more you move the longer you live!
Movement is anti-inflammatory, especially inside joints. Lack of motion increases pain signals inside the joints leading to the feeling of pain.
Chiropractors get motion back into joints that aren't moving and help to break the inflammatory cycle reducing pain and preventing long term joint problems.

Natural Immune Boosting

Did you know that the gut is considered by many to be a second brain?
The health of your gut dictates the overall health of your body as research has shown that it's the most powerful immune organ.
Also, if your stomach and intestines aren't digesting food properly you are always going to be deficient in nutrients vital for repair no matter how healthy you eat. #immuneboost

Achieve a Healthy Eating Pattern

Health.gov sets dietary guidelines for many nutritional protocols, for the 2015-2020 guidelines here is their breakfast to "achieve a healthy eating pattern."
There are many issues with this, but just focusing on net carbs (total carbs minus fiber), this is what health.gov recommends:
[NOT my recommendations]
1/2 whole wheat bagel
20.5 grams carbohydrates
2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
6 grams of carbs
1 medium bananna
24 grams total carbohydrates
Coffee with 2 teaspoons sugar
8.4 grams of carbohydrates
Low fat strawberry yogurt
30 grams carbohydrates
Total carbohydrates: 88.9 grams carbohydrates
90 grams of processed carbohydrates is probably enough for most people for a whole day, let alone breakfast! This is part of the problem why people are getting frustrated or not seeing the results they need.

Poor Fitness Linked to Weaker Brain

Improving your fitness reduces the risk of dementia and Alzheimer disease.
Exercise improves white matter in the brain which is highly correlated improved brain function. White matter is comprised of millions of bundles of nerve fibers used by neurons to communicate across the brain.
If you find yourself out of breath throughout the day during simple tasks like going up the stairs, it's time to get into shape otherwise you are setting yourself up for reduced brain function!
Make sure that during your exercise routine you are getting out of breath enough so that it would be hard to have a conversation with someone.

Lighter Skin and Vitamin D

YES!
The lighter your skin the less sunlight you need to get adequate levels of Vitamin D-3, although everyone is still deficient from what I have seen without supplementation.
If you have dark skin or tan easily then are going to be at a high risk of depression and SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder). And not only in the winter, but year round!
For supplementation if you have light skin you might only require 2,000 to 5,000 IU per day to reach levels between 50-90 ng/ml but if you have dark skin you might need 5,000 to 10,000. The only way to know for sure is to test, however I have never seen a normal vitamin D-3 level without supplementation or regular tanning.

An Avocado a Day Keeps the Doctor Away

An avocado (or two) a day keeps the doctor away!
Avocado's are loaded with healthy fat. Fat is the most satisfying thing you can eat so when you are trying to cut carbs and lose weight you need to make sure to increase healthy fats like avocados.
Moderate to high fat diets have consistently shown to be the most beneficial when it comes to weight loss. Many experts suggest getting anywhere from 40-50% or more of your daily calories from healthy fats. For someone eating 2,000 calories a day this would equate to 88-111 grams of fat per day. Most people are nowhere near this and if they are it's not healthy fat.
One avocado has around 21 grams of fat.

The Health Benefits of Vitamin D

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is in full swing right now.
Cold weather and lack of sunshine make people feel depressed and it also depresses their immune system.
The two easiest things you can do:
1. Get your vitamin D-3 levels between 50-90 ng/ml. Usually this requires someone to take 5,000 to 10,000 IU per day. Your primary doctor can check your levels for you. Proper levels of Vitamin D-3 help with a variety of other things as well!
2. Move more. Don't just sit around all day, make sure you are moving a good amount on daily basis. It doesn't matter the type of movement, just move!

Eat More Vegetables

Simply eating more vegetables would resolve a massive amount of health issues for people. It seems so simple but very few people eat enough vegetables on a daily basis. Instead they run to the doctor to get medication to cover up an auto-immune problem or an "itis" caused by the unhealthy food they are eating.
Start eating vegetables with every meal, especially leafy greens and broccoli!
-Make smoothies and load up on the mixed greens
-Steam broccoli and put Kerrygold USA Grassfed butter on it

Opioid Epidemic

174 people die per day due to opioid medications. And it's people you would never expect until it's too late: your neighbors, family, friends, co-workers.
This is exactly why I put together an anti-inflammatory class, to help people who are heading in this direction. It also helps with any other inflammatory problem they might be dealing with.
Not marketing to doctors is a great step in the right direction, but it's not going to be enough.
There are other options to pain medication for everything, lifestyle controls 70-98% of your health.

Fruits and Vegetables

As you are filling your grocery cart with fruits and vegetables it is important to know how to store produce correctly so it lasts as long as possible, especially if you buy organic.
Avocados can be ripened quickly if put in a brown paper bag with a banana. Whereas if you want to slow the ripening process, put avocados in the fridge.
To store bananas long term, peel, slice and store in the freezer in a plastic bag. They will keep for awhile in the freezer and they work great for smoothies.

Brain Glucose Levels and Alzheimer's

Many researchers are calling Alzheimer's type 3 diabetes.
The brains of Alzheimer patients were not able to utilize processed sugar leading to amyloid plaques aka Alzheimers disease. However, they were able to tolerate ketones for energy which can slow down progression of the disease.
Ketones are created when carbohydrates are reduced below 50 grams (depends on person) a day and healthy fats are increased.
Reduce processed carbohydrates and increase healthy fats.
